National Stock Exchange
A regional securities exchange dating to 1885, when a group of businessmen met in Cincinnati, Ohio, to auction the shares of several local companies. Operating as the Cincinnati Stock Exchange, it replaced its trading floor with a geographically dispersed electronic trading system in 1976. The exchange moved its headquarters to Chicago in 1995 and assumed its new name in 2003.
