National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) definition - business
National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
An independent federal agency created in 1935 to administer the National Labor Relations Act. The NLRB has a five-member board that decides cases based on records of administrative hearings and a general counsel that investigates and prosecutes unfair labor practice cases. The agency is charged with determining whether employees wish to be represented by a union and with preventing unlawful acts by either employers or unions.
