for your information (FYI)

  1. An addition to a note or memorandum that alerts the reader that no action or response is required.
  2. Of or relating to a market maker's quotation for trading purposes when the price is not firm. For example, a market maker might supply an FYI quote for valuation purposes. Also called for valuation only.
