flextime

A system of employment in which employees are permitted to choose the hours during which they will work, subject to certain limitations set by the employer. For example, employees may be permitted to work a 40-hour week as either 10 hours per day for four days or 8 hours per day for five days. Alternatively, employees may be permitted to choose whether to start their 8-hour days at any time between 6:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M.
