endorsement

  1. An owner's signature that serves to transfer the legal rights to a negotiable certificate to another party.
  2. An addition to a contract. For example, an insurance agent might suggest that a client add an endorsement to their homeowner's insurance contract for coverage of a valuable coin collection.
