decision matrix
A chart comparing options and criteria that is designed to help identify an optimal solution. For example, a business considering the introduction of several new products (the options) identifies and weights various considerations (the criteria, including projected sales, costs, legal difficulties, etc.) that are important in evaluating the various alternatives. Relative weights are often assigned to each of the criteria.
