Goods that go together such that increased demand for one is generally accompanied by increased demand for the other. Computers and software are complementary goods. Compare substitute goods. See also joint demand.

Goods are complementary if a reduction in the price of one leads to an increase in demand for the other. They are usually goods that are consumed (used) together, such as gin and tonic or computers and software.

complementary goods are those which will be demanded in more quantity individually,when the demand of one of the commodity increases.
