  1. Funds set aside for a potential expense.
  2. Funds allocated for a regular expenditure such as the expense of operating a personal vehicle for business purposes.
  3. A benefit offered to a distributor or retailer in exchange for a specific activity, such as product placement or advertising. See also trade allowance.
