age discrimination definition - business
age discrimination
The use of age as a consideration in employment decisions. For example, a business, concerned about the escalating cost of health benefits, requires employees to retire upon reaching age 55. Most employees are protected from age discrimination by a series of federal laws including the Age Discrimination Employment Act of 1967.
