Abdullah ibn-Husein
(äbˌdo͝o-läˈ ĭbˌn-ho͞o-sānˈ) 1882-1951.
Transjordanian emir (1921-1946) and first king of independent Jordan (1946-1951). He annexed the West Bank of the Jordan River in 1950 and was assassinated a year later by a Palestinian nationalist.
